Biography[edit]

Tiger Woods, born Eldrick Tont Woods on December 30, 1975, in Cypress, California, is one of the most renowned golfers in history. His father, Earl Woods, introduced him to golf at a very young age, and by the age of two, Tiger was already demonstrating his incredible talent for the sport. He appeared on television shows as a prodigy, showcasing his skills.

Woods' amateur career was exceptional. He won three consecutive U.S. Amateur titles from 1994 to 1996, a feat that had never been achieved before. He turned professional in 1996 and immediately made an impact, winning his first PGA Tour event, the Las Vegas Invitational, in 1996.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Tiger dominated the world of golf like no other player before him. His combination of power, accuracy, mental toughness, and relentless work ethic revolutionized the game. He won his first major championship, the Masters Tournament, in 1997 by a record margin at the age of 21. This victory marked the beginning of an era of dominance.

Over the next decade, Woods continued to rewrite the record books. He won numerous major championships, including the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship multiple times. In 2000–2001, he achieved the remarkable feat of holding all four major titles simultaneously, a feat known as the "Tiger Slam."

Off the course, Woods faced personal challenges, including scrutiny over his private life and struggles with injuries. In 2009, revelations about his extramarital affairs led to a highly publicized scandal and his temporary withdrawal from golf. However, he returned to the sport and continued to compete at the highest level.

Despite facing multiple back surgeries and other health issues, Woods staged incredible comebacks, including winning the Masters Tournament in 2019, his first major victory in over a decade. His perseverance and resilience have earned him admiration from fans worldwide.

Beyond his achievements on the course, Woods has also made significant contributions to the popularization and commercialization of golf. He became one of the most marketable athletes globally, endorsing numerous brands and products.

Tiger Woods' impact on golf transcends his record-breaking performances. He inspired generations of golfers, both amateur and professional, and his influence on the sport will be felt for years to come.
